(would you rather spend a holiday at New Zealand beach or overseas)

(would  you rather spend a holiday at  New Zealand beach or overseas)

I would rather spend a holiday in New Zealand because right now New Zealand doesn't have much Covid. I wouldn't go overseas due to the pandemic, I would stay and have good fish and chips and on the side is a L&P and get my mind off some of the bad things happening in the world.

Would you rather have a wand with magic or a hand that can make magic?

(Would you rather have a wand with magic or hand that can make magic)

I would rather have a hand that can make magic, due to the fact that I might lose my wand and t

here's a high chance that I would break it before I would use it.  Having a hand that can make Magic is

better than having a wand. The reason why it's better is because

It's always with you and it will never leave you.

Would you rather be a hero or a villain?

(Would you rather be a hero or a villain?)

I would rather be a villain, the reason why I would be a villain it's that they are more creative and unpredictable.  Being a villain is that there's no one perfect. The job being a villain is that I could do anything and try not to get caught. And I think there's too many heroes in the story. There always has to be a bad side.

Jean Batten Biography

 Jean Batten

Jean Batten was a famous iconic aviator who was originally born from New Zealand in Rotorua 15th of September 1909 then died at the age of 73 in  Majorca on 22 November 1982 from getting bitten by a dog and refusing to take treatment then died from pulmonary abscess.

Jean Batten's job as a aviator, she achieved being the first woman to ever fly herself across the South Atlantic, in October 1936. Jean Batten is also the first woman to achieve the FAI Gold Air Medal in 1937. She won it by flying solo, flying to New Zealand from England in 1936 which took her a total of 11 days  and 45 minutes. She was awarded the Legion of Honor because of the flight and also being awarded with the  Order of the Southern Cross by GetĂșlio Dornelles Vargas, President of Brazil.

Jean successfully achieved the FAI Gold Air Medal in 1937 because she flew solo from England to New Zealand in 11 days and 45 minutes and also was the first person and woman to do so. The reason why she also got the Legion of Honor is because of the solo-flight she did and also goes to the Order of the Southern Cross, which was given to her by Getulio Dornelles Vargas, the President of Brazil.

I think the reason why she did this is because she wanted to inspire people and especially women to achieve their goals and never break down. Jean Batten was also inspired by the man Charles Lindbergh by his amazing work of flying non-stop crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Another reason why she did it, which was to do what she wanted and yearned to do and see the amazing views from above

This map is a diagram of Jean Batten's flight.

I Would Rather Slide down a rainbow or jump on clouds?

I would like to jump on clouds

For the feeling of feeling Free.

The feeling to forget every bad matter in this accursed world. The soft touch

of heaven's land. Being up in the sky never seeing the earth’s ground again and being alone

would be my favorite feeling. I would be living in a world where there

is no care whatsoever.  In a world where it's like running through Santa's beard and it's never ending.

Being above the world where there's everything happening is better than going through it.

Black Out Poetry

Apart of writing this week my class did a blackout poetry. All you need is to find a newspaper or magazine or you could rather find an article online, and then find a piece of text and create a poem by blackening or highlighting words to build your poem.

Sailing With The Homies

                                         Sailing

First of all, I want to thank St Johns Rotary for sponsoring us to go to Sailing at Okahu Bay. We really appreciate it... thank you.

At Okahu Bay,  my class and I did a very fun activity... Sailing. When we got to our location on a bus the sky was grey, the salty water looked very cold and the little sailing boat  we were to go in gave me claustrophobia vibes

After we talked about saftey rules, ate morning tea we had a little korero. I partnered up with my classmate Peter and we were all building our boat and looking at the finished boat to figure how to make our boat perfect for us to go on the ocean.

It was time to go sailing and get wet!, I rushed to my boat but my brain wasn't working.  I forgot to wear my Swim Suit!. Me and my classmates went to the changing room and changed into our outfit. Our outfit was a lifejacket and waterproof bright red jacket.

We all got into our boats and me and my partner Peter started confused. "What's this for?"  "Uhh, whats this thingy?" We worked it out and we are ready to ride like the waves. We were all organized as numbers like "1 2 3 4 5 6" It was time for all of us to disconnect from each other. I was steering and looking at the sky and then a ball was thrown at me "What the? Oh nah who ever threw that is gonna get hurt" I said.  "Ball Tiggy!" said the life guards. Peter and I sailed away as fast as we could.

I hit one of the girls on their head with a ball. I was imagining myself with unlimited balls and repeatedly throwing at them. I was full of laughter throwing the balls at them. The most embarrasing thing that happened was that I was the first ever person to fall in the water swimming like a maniac to get bak in the boat. But it was fun. Peter and I kept on falling but on purpose because being in the water was fun.

Once we all finished sailing we changed into our warm clothes and went on the bus and the boys sang "IN the jungle the quiet jungle the lion sleeps tonight". "Im a barbie girl in a barbie world"  all the way home.

Thank you St Johns Rotary for the fun. And thank you teachers for looking after us. And thank you bus driver for not complaning about our annoying voices singing and taking us to the sailing.

Diary Entry

This is a diary entry, I have writting in reponse to a short animated movie we were studying for literature

Dear Diary,

I always wondered where were my  parents were.

I always wanted to know, why they weren't there.

I only remember a little glimpse of them arguging. The agressive high pitch screams, blue and red lights flashing upon my eyes.

My soul just left my body, waterfalls falling from my eyes saying prayers in my head asking God to save me. Then a loud bang that ended all.

That was all I remembered. I really wish for a bottle with a genie in it. Wishing to have a better life and my heart fixed.  With people who love me and care for me, like parents.

Aroha - Paul

 Aroha

Her hair blows in the wind, her free spirit flows letting the negativity go. Her name is Aroha meaning love.

But everyday is not a regular day, the screams in her head. The offensive  jokes that she cannot cope with but she always stay silent, sometimes silence is violence.  She's  forced to deal with what she feels. She drowns in sorrow some times Aroha want to die and never come back tommorow.

Aroha has a friend meetup, they all walk to their favourite spot, peaceful day with the birds singing, their free spirit flys like kites, they both shine bright and they share their light and the sun shine with teeth smiling white.

They all play around in the woods thinking of nothing but everything good. The wind sings with birds flapping their wings and the trees rustle a beat. Its like life is a song going through high notes and low notes with also a sad or happy end. The happy laughs from Aroha and her friends, they all forget about the bad things. Aroha overcomes her fears, and she also takes away the tears.

The doctors put Bridger the boy to sleep again to stitch him up. Professional surgeons come and work on his broken face, they stitch him 90 times.

After hours in the hospital they go home in the car. The boy sees where he was attacked.  He tries to  forget about it.
They go inside and the mum takes pictures of the brother and sister. They post the story on social media

First week

My First  Week In Room 8

My first week was very nervous and fun.  I really had fun getting to know my classmates well and studying with them.  The new teacher, Mrs George is funny and helpful. Getting with the new class was very shy and weird because the class was different and smaller also the classmates are really tall. I am starting to get comfortable with the new classmates and the class. The new people are very kind, helpful and funny. I am hoping my year with new classmates will be very fun and cool. In our  week we learned about the coronavirus, art, about who you are and also math(addition). I am willing to make this year a great year.
